Maximilian Dollner studied “Physics + Meteorology” at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) München. He obtained his Masters degree in Meteorology in 2015. In his master thesis, he performed airborne cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) measurements and studied the vertical distribution of CCN properties in the Caribbean during the SALTRACE aircraft field experiment. Between 2012 and 2015 he was a working student in the joint Aerosol Physics group at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and at LMU led by Bernadett Weinzierl. During this time he participated in several international aircraft field experiments such as SALTRACE (2013), ML-CIRRUS, RACEPAC, ACRIDICON (all 2014) and ECLIF (2015).

In our group, Maximilian Dollner investigates the global abundance of coarse mode aerosol and studies similarities and differences of (cirrus-) clouds in the northern and southern hemisphere based on measurements during the NASA-sponsored  Atmospheric Tomography Mission (ATom: https://espo.nasa.gov/home/atom).
